setting up QT4 for complete beginner

I recently purchased Trolltec's book on QT4, but i can't set it up. I have always used Microsoft Visual Studio to compile my programs, so I have no idea how to use the command prompt or to setup a compiler.

Are there any tutorials out there for people who have never setup a compiler before? I keep seeing examples which suddenly say "compile it, link it, run it", "setup your libs", and "make sure your path variable is set correctly." I have NO idea what these means and I am completely lost.

try the qt documentation, archive, .... google! it's really not that hard but for a quick fix: http://www.qtbuilder.net/
