Installing QT Windows Binary MinGW

Hello,

After installing QT4.4 for Windows from the Binary package and installing MinGW compiler, what else do you have to do to start compiling programs?

I notice various option in the menu created in the start menu, but there seems to be no documentation which amazes me. Thanks in advance.
