Hi

I'm evaluating Qt as a development platform for an IPTV based desktop application - targeting Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

What support does Qt have for streaming video via UDP packets multicast from a server? I read about the Phonon multimedia framework - but didn't see any mention of supported codec's. What codec's does Qt support ? Does it have support for the H.264 codec? If it doesn't - what would be involved in creating a cross-platform Qt desktop application that supports viewing stream H.264 content ? Is there a facility for using an unsupported codec ?

Qt supports what ever codecs that are on DirectX on windows, Quicktime on Mac and gstreamer on linux. if there is a h.264 codec for those, then it is supported
