SUMMARY: Develop and implement computer GUI/embedded systems for use
in nondestructive evaluation and integrated sensor systems. Job will
have a strong programming component, but will also require laboratory
work and testing. Functions include interaction with customers to
promote new business and develop technical requirements, assistance in
preparing proposals and cost estimates, making technical and marketing
presentations to customers, documenting and reporting on technical
work.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering or
Physics with 0-5 year’s related experience. Candidate must be
knowledgeable in C/C++ programming with an understanding of object
oriented design. GUI programming using QT or Gtk+ is a plus. Experience
with embedded systems (MSP430, TMS320 and/or Atmel AVR
is also
desirable. Multiplatform development on Linux, Solaris, and/or OS X is
recommended. Ideally the candidate should be comfortable in a
laboratory setting using oscilloscopes and other test and measurement
equipment. General circuit debugging skills recommended. Labview and
Matlab a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are
required.
