Read good C++ book. QLabel *label // declares variable (pointer to QLabel instance (QLabel object)) = // assigns new // creates new object on so called heap QLabel("Hello Qt!",0); // calls QLabel constructor which according to Qt3 documentation _exists_. QLabel *label=new QLabel("Hello Qt!"); // calls QLabel constructor which does not exists. The compiler shows the error. Why Qt3? Why not Qt4?

What is the output (which you want to check) for you? Usually in C/C++ building final file is an executable or/and (depends what is written in Makefile) shared/static object/library file(s). The executable will be named using the project name (TheName.pro then executable will be named TheName if I am right) or the executable will be named using .pro file TARGET variable value. In older systems qmake is used in qt3 and qmake-qt4 (or some other similar name) is used in qt4.

The error message just cannot be same. Show the source and the error message. Quoted that program which i got after compilation It is not "that program after compilation". It is compilation step. g++ is compiler (manager which calls real compiler) plus various flags needed for qt3 plus source file (test.cpp). Produces object file (test.o) which later will be linked into/with the program.

Try to add drag move event (dragMoveEvent) handling. Maybe by default dragMoveEvent rejects drag event..

Serious bug on dialog->isVisible (returns 1 but it is not visible!)

You do not provide compilable example. Take a debugger and debug the application. If you are 100% sure post bug report to Qt team.
