QNetworkAccessManager Network access is disabled

Hi,
My Qt app' powers on a cellular modem, contacts a server and powers down the modem.
This is done every minute.
Many times I get an error: 99 - Network access is disabled from the QNetworkAccessManager.
I even tried deleting the QNAM and creating a new one on every attempt.
Is it a known issue?
Is there a fix/workaround?

I'm using Qt 5.5.1, running on embedded linux (Yocto Jethro)
