QDir and permissions

Hello,
I'm trying to create a directory with

QDir::home().mkdir(name);

It doesn't happen. I was wondering, do I have to set particular permissions under Linux? It seems strange since it all runs from the home directory.
Snag.

RE: QDir and permissions

From documentation:

QDir::home( )
Under non-Windows operating systems the HOME environment variable is used if it exists, otherwise rootDirPath() is used.
