Phonon not being recognized

I'm trying to create a media player (mainly just to see if I can), but Qt doesn't seem to recognize Phonon. I have followed the normal advice of adding "QT += phonon" into my .pro file, but I am getting "cannot find -lphonon" errors. I also checked in the Qt Settings and the entire Phonon tab is grayed out, saying that both Phonon and GStreamer are "Not Available", but I know that both are installed. I believe that Amarok also uses Phonon, and that works perfectly, so I don't know why Qt can't find it. Is this a problem with running on Ubuntu with GNOME?
