File or path is not found (nmake)

hey community,
I'm new to Qt and already stumbling while isntalling the commercial version fo QT 4.3.2.
I've set the environment variables PATH and QTDIR to the appropritate values (here: C:\QT\4.3.2\bin, C:\QT\4.3.2).
I have the source package (zip) file, no installation file, therefore I need to run the 'configure' command from the command line.
Perl is installed and running to make 'syncqt' working. I'm using the win32-msvc compiler (maybe this is wrong?! But I want to use the Visual Studio 6.0 for further developement, so I guess this is the right compiler)
But, never the less, I still got the error stated in the subject ('File or path is not found (nmake)').
Does anyone got further inquires, ideas or feedback what path nmake is missing?!
Any help may be helpful, fell free to post your ideas or questions.

Some updates:
I searched for the nmake executeable and copied the one I found (from D:\programme\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\bin) to C:\QT\4.3.2\bin.
Now the command line output brings up several errors regarding missing files in C:\QT\4.3.2\qmake like

I guess somethings wrong with the nmake executeable?!
So, the question is, where to get the nmake.exe from?

Nmake.exe wont be curropted.

Have you checked another make file by calling nmake. I you have microsoft platform sdk there are a lot of examples to do it with nmake.
Leave it. I think the make file wont be compactible with nmake. try to do compile QT with Cygwin. Else QT setup is also there you have to just install it after downloading from internet.
if you start to copy from visual studio bin you have to copy a lot of its dependencies..

for eg cl "NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'cl' : return code '0x1'"
one more you have to make sure you are using visual studio command prompt.

But I depend on the Visual Studio compiler because the related project I need to take care of is compiled using this compiler.

As you said above nmake is not got installed perfectly in you side. Have you checked? Access cmd from Microsoft visual studio->tools-> command prompt .. by default it is there inside the bin of visual studio. Come out from visual studio folder, then nmake -help. If it not showing the help options, environment variables is not properly got set by Visual studio. Check it.
