Qt 3.x and 4.x side-by-side?

Hi,

I'm using Qt 3.3.8 on Linux (slackware 12), KDE compiled against
it. I'd like to install 4.3.x side-by-side with that. Is there a document
somewhere that describes how to go about such a set-up?
