Why no 3rd-party styles?

I see several posts asking about how to apply custom styles. For example, what if I want my app to use a Mac-like Aqua style? Trolltech has provided a few styles, including a .NET style and an Explorer style (http://labs.trolltech.com/blogs/2007/06/page/2/) . Style sheets are also supported. But I don't see anyone actually writing their own Qt styles. If I were using Java Swing for GUI's, I could choose from free and commercial skins at www.javootoo.com. So why is nobody writing skins for Qt? Is the API too limited? Has anyone actually tried writing a skin for Qt?
