Wombat has products covering major US, European and Asian Exchanges. The company has built a strong brand, known particularly for its technical excellence – ultra low latency, product quality, and customer support.

Job Description:

Software Engineer – GUI product
This NYC based role would assist in the development of our Wombat GUI product, a real-time front end monitoring application for both market data and system performance. Our desktop application targets users such as traders, quant analysts, system administrators, and market data support teams. Wombat GUI is built on top of our event driven market data API, and as our GUI grows we need to expand our personnel to support it. Therefore, we are seeking people with fresh innovative minds to assist us.

Responsibilities:
• Design, implement and test new features.
• Provide 3rd line support to customers.
• Continually improve the code base in terms of performance and functionality.
• Implement and enhance engineering processes that deliver better software as efficiently as possible.

Requirements - Essential:
• Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• C++ development experience.
• Proven track record of exceptional performance, high productivity and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
• Superb problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements - Desirable:
• Familiarity with Qt toolkit
• Experience with Linux or Unix operating systems.
• Messaging middleware / event driven software experience
• Willingness to travel.
